The need lor an understanding of chcmie cal phenomena has been reflected in the increase in enrollment from four to thirteen classes in the last six years. The two well-equipped laboratories are in al- most constant use during the school day and after school. with the students using them to discover the scientific answers to many of their everyday problems. This department is now headed by Mr. Fred Ring. PHYSICS Klr. Godwin, head of the Physics department, says that this course is to acquaint the students with what is going on around them-with their environment. The same methods are used to teach this subject as are used in the chemistry department. The student is able to gain a great deal of knowledge about the physical world. Ile comes to understand something of the pattern of the world in which he is living, and of the perfectly delinite and exact manner in which certain phenomena are produced and the logical paths they follow.
