| ‘: Spt Hit Pinata fetid Thay i Pei Pee HET BY i SENATE Second Row: Karen Callanan, Marilynn Lau, Wayne Marley, Mary Ann Johnson First Row: Carl Lindstrom, Marsha Swanson, Norm Mangano, Cynthia Poli This is the first year for the Student Senate. It is composed of the presidents and vice-presidents of the following groups: Coed Club, Men's Club, freshmen class, sopho- more class, three elected from the sophomore class, and one representative from the college publications. In addition to sponsoring the Gym-Jams, the Mixers, the Homecoming Dance, the Boulderino, and the Prom, the Student Senate also has the responsibility of distributing the student activity fees to the various school activities. Sponsors for the Student Senate are Mrs. Helen G. Fesler and Mr. Raymond C. Sherman. In addition to assisting the officers of the Senate, they also serve to coordi- nate the actions of the Senate with those of the administration and the faculty.

In this capacity he gained valuable experience in handling the problems of the students. He also served as a co-sponsor of the Men's Club and this year he is continu- ing as the sponsor. It is evident that Mr. Kee is well prepared for his first year as the Dean of Men, for he not only knows the administra- tive functions of his position but is also regarded with respect by the students. i ‘ eer 3 ded eI eee Can, DEAN OF WOMEN Miss Adelaide Childs This is Miss Child's second year as Dean of Women at Thornton Junior College. She ‘serves a needed function, that of making it easier for the freshmen women to adjust to the change from high school to college life. She is equally interested in assisting the sophomore women with their problems, for all the girls can have problems which may well require the assistance of an interested faculty member.
