THE TRIPOD -- 1933 4l1l1lDlD1lD NEWS The senior class presented the popular musical comedy Good News and it was greatly enjoyed by a capacity audience Mr Cole and Mr Dorr were the directors of acting and music respectively As the result of many weeks of strenuous labor on the part of the directors and the players a really fine entertainment was given The acting was all so nearly perfect that it would be hardly fair to men tion anyone in particular Wesley Keefe and Helen Wentworth d1d excellent work as the leading man and lady The comedy team of Steve Polackwitch and Mary Harper was so mirth provoking that toward the end of the play their mere appearance on the stage caused a gale of laughter Hamllton Mil gate as the burly football player Evon Higgins as the coach Raymond Mercier as the pessimistic trainer Otis Parker as the old professor Priscilla Libby as the trayals The dancing of Linwood Boutet Priscilla Libby Pauline Elia Ju dith Tripp Betty McLeod and Charlotte Smith was an additional source of entertainment No less an integral part of the play was the chorus consisting of eight girls and eight boys These led by Pauline Elia gave a good exhibition of song and dance The Thornton Academy orchestra led by Norman Kennedy and directed by Mr Dorr provided the music which was of course a most necessary part of the production Unquestionably great credit is due Mr Cole and Mr Dorr Without their skill and untiring efforts the show would not have been a success The senlors can be justly proud of Good News as it was one of the best plays ever staged by Thornton students l40l pretty co-ed, Paul Sullivan as the timid freshman. all gave very realistic por-
