Rejuvenated Boys Club creates controversy Stature and controversy have risen hand-in-hand with the Boys Club. For the first time in six years, the Buzz Book, a list of the addresses and phone num- bers of each student, was published. However, Boys Club discontinued selling the Buzz Book because of complaints from at least seven parents of students who wanted their names deleted from the book after it was published. During the '74-'75 Boys Club planned very well. Sponsor Mr. Pershing Broome commented, We have pulled ourselves out of a one-hundred-dollar debt and into a position where we can afford to give a two-hundred-dollar scholarship. Boys Club has doubled its active membership to a total of 126. Members attend monthly meetings to plan their activities, and then relate the current events back to their homerooms. Along with this membership increase, the number of activities has also risen. Their many successful activities include the Boys Club Breakfast, Toys for Tots Drive at Christmas and record-breaking attendance at the battle of the bands - gym jam entitled Midyear Extravagan- za.
