The editor begins the initial creative process by inventing a theme, after which the photographers are assigned hundreds of pictures from which the staff must choose those that are the most interesting. Then comes the time-con- suming tasks of identifying, cropping, typing captions, writing copy, drawing layouts and completing a specified num- ber of pages in time to meet the deadlines. All in all, it is no easy task, but the reward comes in viewing the finished product, a yearbook that TR students will treasure for many years, lvl 1! 11 Top Right: Cindy Mullen and Ioe Egan man the typewriters. . Bagpipe informs TR student body Walking beats, writing stories, draw- ing layouts, and doing paste-ups are a few of the many activities at which Bag- pipe staff members work to create TRfs weekly newspaper. Led by editor-in-chief Bruce Hall and managing editor Diane Whiting, the staff 'worked hard to bring TR students inter- esting, informative reading, despite the problem of weekly deadlines. Bagpipe's major change was a switch back to the traditional four-page layout from last year's eight-page magazine style paper. I 1165 azwftacw f .vm-fix. Q' XX f 2 X , 5 x f -Qx,?5 ini.. L..
