Any Number Can Die captures first in state contest The cast of Any Number Can Die read to a first place in state competition April 4. The Death and Life of Sneaky Pitch, the contest play, advanced to sec- tionals after placing third in district competition. The contest play, The Death and Life of Sneaky Fitch was a farcical western involving the death and resurrection of the town drunk. Any Number Can Die, this year's Reader's Theatre pro- duction, was a thirty minute mystery play set in the 193O's. The show dealt with seven people who assembled to hear the reading of a deceased millionaire's will. Pour of the cast members - Cynthia Wrede, Mark Zajac, Dan Forrest and Matt Piescinski received all-district awards for their outstanding acting abili- ty. Debaters attack their topics verbally To become a debater, a student begins early in the year to school himself in con- centration and to accumulate those facts which will enable him to obtain a com- plete knowledge of the subject which he plans to debate. Both novice and varstiy debaters are coached by Miss Pamela Schultz. Being a debater means many hours spent in the library researching a topic and many long hours of practice. This year's debate topic was Resolved: That the United States should significantly change the method of selecting Preisden- tial and Vice Presidential candidates.
