Madrigals, Symphonic Band represent top music groups Every musician or singer in A Building yearns to become a member of the Sym- phonic Band or Madrigals. Members are selected through auditions in the fall each year and are soon after greeted with the traditionally hectic Christmas schedule. This past year the Madrigals sang Christmas carols on over 20 different occasions. The beneficiaries of these per- formances were area nursing homes, church groups and PTA's. The rest of the year was not nearly as strenuous, and the Madrigals, who work without any direction from Choir Direc- tor Mr. Runestad, had time to relax and enjoy the smiles of their audiences. Symphonic Band also performed fre- quently during the Christmas season. Promoting both Thornridge and the TR Music Department, they made a tour of area grade schools. Members fo this band use their free time for rehearsals in preparation for their concerts and other performances.
