Physical ed. injects fitness, fun into student's day TR's physical education department offers a variety of classes. Students may prefer swimming, flip over gymnastics, or just enjoy a good game of basketball. While freshman and sophomore classes are fairly rigid, juniors and seniors have their choice of classes from wrestling to co-ed tennis. Sophomore gym classes have been eliminated this year. Sopho- mores now are required to take one se- mester of health and one semester of drivers education. Besides being fun, gym classes help TR students keep physically fit and healthy with the hope that these habits will last all their lives. Below: Dr. Lambert takes a few minutes out from class lecture to explain a few minor points to Mary Kay Iuszczyk and Diane Gibson. Students probe past, discuss present in Soc. Studies TR's Social Studies Department offers a wide variety of classes to students. For students interested in government and law, there is a course in American Law. To students who want to learn more about human behavior, Psycholo- gy offers the chance. Physical Anthro- pology and its companion course, Cul- tural Anthropology, show students how man evolved both physically and cultur- ally, with the help of many field trips and a simulated archeological dig. Some of the other classes are Sociology, Urban Age Geography, and Human Relations. All of these are, of course, advanced classes. For the freshman there is Introducto- ry Social Studies. This class gives fresh- men a survey of the Social Studies De- partment. In this way students can learn which, if any, of the more advanced classes they might want to take.
