lt all adds up in Math Department The world of numbers appears highly impersonal until you find someone will- ing to talk math with you on a one-to- one basis. Fortunately, the Math Depart- ment has those kind of people. Basic Math classes make difficult multiplica- tion, addition, subtraction and division problems easy. For the advanced mathe- matician, Pre-calculus with its computer applications proves to be a definite chal- lenge. Computerese is a language un- like any other. This year an experimental independent study program has been designed for certain Algebra I classes. According to Mr. Steffe, Math Depart- ment chairman, lf it doesn't work, we'll go back to traditional methods. Math Club competes as a team against area high schools four times during the school year plus semi-final and final events. Mr. George Silagyi is the club's sponsor.
