lt all adds up in Math Department The world of numbers appears highly impersonal until you find someone will- ing to talk math with you on a one-to- one basis. Fortunately, the Math Depart- ment has those kind of people. Basic Math classes make difficult multiplica- tion, addition, subtraction and division problems easy. For the advanced mathe- matician, Pre-calculus with its computer applications proves to be a definite chal- lenge. Computerese is a language un- like any other. This year an experimental independent study program has been designed for certain Algebra I classes. According to Mr. Steffe, Math Depart- ment chairman, lf it doesn't work, we'll go back to traditional methods. Math Club competes as a team against area high schools four times during the school year plus semi-final and final events. Mr. George Silagyi is the club's sponsor. Adjust the radio and ven- tilationf' These are just a few of the pre- liminary instructions given to TR Driv- ers Education students. Every sophomore now has a full se- mester of Drivers Ed in which he learns the meaning of road signs, studies the rules of the road, practices the basics of driving on the range, and gets some real driving experience on the road. All this prepares the student for his driver's li- cense test, which he can take as soon as he is 16 and has successfully completed his Drivers Ed course in school.
