Below Right: Denise Dwyer and Jeff Proffitt are the center of attraction as they lead the traditional Coronation dance. Below Left: Couples pause in the lobby for refresh- ments before resuming their night of dancing. The lobby was transformed into a country store. Prom, Homecoming dances will always be remembered Denise Dwyer and Jeff Proffitt reigned as queen and king at 1974's Homecoming dance Harvester's Ball. Alumni returned to join present stu- dents at the Highlander-sponsored event. Joan Anderson was general chair- man of the festivities. Renaissance, a professional band, and Mark Voll, an alumnus of Thornridge, presented double feature entertainment. The dance was highlighted by the coro- nation-ceremony with the court consist- ing of John Addleman, Sue Binder, Russ Calabrese, Arletha Cherry, Gary Chris- tian, Dan Fleischman, Jayson Fraser, Mike Gorski, Liz Hall, julie Kruse, Carol Parham, Dave Pfister, Gail Rossi, and Gloria Whittington. Officially Coun- tryside ended Saturday night at 11 p.m., but to all its participants, the spirit of Countryside still lingers on. Good music and high spirits set the Lexington House aglow for the 1974 Grand Ball May 17. Several of the 325 couples who attend- ed prom announced their engagements during the night of enchantment. Prom proved to be a world of sunshine for these couples . Presentation of the prom court by se- nior class president Pat Mulvenna and the crowning of Kyle Travis as the Prom Queen highlighted the ceremonies of a magical evening. Other prom court members were Lee Adolph, Theresa Al- banese, Pat Bronson, and Mettha Marsalis. Planned by Mr. Michael Bortel and the senior class officers, For All We Know, the theme of the 1974 prom, meant something special to all who attended.
