42 Administration institutes advisory boards While the majority of the faculty enjoy a three month vacation, Mr. Salvatore Salato, Mr. Daniel Carmichael, Dr. Rich- ard Taylor and Dr. Robert McKanna work throughout the summer preparing for another school year. Dr. McKanna and the three assistant principals handle day-to-day problems as well as make long-range plans. Mr. Lawrence Corley, Mr. Joseph Keane, and Mr. Welton Stedt assist in the decision-making. Seeking new ways to communicate with the stu- dent body, the administration instituted an advisory board program in each de- partment this year. District 205 board and administration are in charge of 10,683 students in three high schools - Thornridge, Thorton, and Thornwood. District 205 is one of the largest districts in the state.
