Clolfteann experiences changes For the first time the golf team played their home meets at River Oaks golf course in Calumet City. The team was coached by Mr. Sam Tortorici. This year, hoping for better weather, golf was a fall sport but was played by the winter rules. After completing a 3-9 season, the varsity took fourth in league and elev- enth in district. The team was led by Captain Rich Rogich and the M.V.P. was Jerry Siadek. Frosh-Soph, new this year also, cap- tured third place in league with a record of 7-5. Baseball teams sport winning records Sporting a 15-8 record, the varsity baseball team, coached by Mr. Wally Shatkowski and Mr. Sam Tortorici, pro- duced three All-Conference players: Harry Ekstrom, Tom Shannon, and Ron Woodall. Dennis Sims provided leader- ship as the team's captain. The soph team, coached by Mr. Carlos Medrano, boasted a 12-5 record. Most Valuable Player was Jim Vegovisch and winner of the Charley Hustle Award was Gary Baranowski. Coached by Mr. Dave Lezeau, the 'frosh team compiled a 9-5 record.
