Roadrunners advance to sectionals A fifth place finish in the district meet enabled the Roadrunners to advance to sectional competition for the first time since 1971. Off to a slow start, TR's varsity cross country team encountered trouble early in the season. However, the Roadrunners improved with a 12th in a field of 59 teams at the Crete Monee Pow-Wow and a 13th in the forty team Mattoon Invita- tional. In league competition the Road- runners placed third. Captain Bruce Hall finished tenth in a field of 240 runners at the Mattoon Invi- tational, while Jim Galen led the frosh to an Sth place finish at TR's Freshmen Invitational.
