Lois Keller Lawrence Bos Betty Sprague Hazel Kitzman Roger Mullen Marlys Merck Vernon Wilson .Robert Bowers ......Louie Souer .............Tom Orr Maxine Homan Silas Smidge once a poor boy returns after thirty years to give the home town a surprise and a treat, His entry is a sensation for he comes by airplane and drops in via parachute' but mlscalculates slightly. landing on the ,owshed of Deacon Mc- Pheeters the stingiest man in town, with disaster to the flimsy structure and the skinny bovine occupant. No sooner does the reception committee pick the re- doubtable Silas from the debris of the cow s residence and carry him triumphant to the reception room of the combined village store and boarding house than begins the unfolding of a plot of comedy romance, heart interest strong dramatic situations and even some farce and melodrams in which is presented as varied and delightful a range of characters as ever graced a play of this type. Silas is not one of those country boys who has gone to the city and made good. Indeed not! He arrives from Turnip Ridge County Clay in Ioway' is rural to the core and redolent of soil but is as loxy and resourceful as can be. He succe'ds in smoothlng out the life of the orphan waif Judy and discovers her true identity during the course of the play. The play included a county dance and many other outstanding features that were enjoyable to the audience.
