Trojan A native of Hart, Van came to Mid- dleviile in 1934 to teach biology and math. He was assistant football coach and later baseball coach. In 1940 he became principal and also taught math and government. He assumed the superintendency in 1952. We Dedicate the 1968 To SUPERINTENDENT EARL VAN SICKLE who closed his career in education after 34 years at TK. The influence that Van has had on perhaps 3000 youths in these 34 years is inestimable. He has touched and sometimes molded their lives with his wisdom, his interest, and his humor - always confident in the worth of all individuals. He has understood and appreciated the community, threading his tenuous way through diverse opinions and eventually uniting the citizens to build the best ed- ucational program possible. He has lent his personal effort to community projects, sometimes beyond physical endurance. Through 34 years he has made the words TK and Van synonymous.
