A young Trojan who is All- American in football, All-State in football and basketball and number One School Boy shot putter in the State. A Student Council president outstanding in intellect, industry, and personality. Superior rating for the Senior and Junior Bands. Keen young men of '68 capturing the traditional educational leadership from the girls. The guidance of one of the most professional Boards of Edu- cation in the State. A curriculum for the college- bound and the vocational-slanted. A devoted staff of teachers, counselors, and administrators. A band of 700 eager, level-headed youths. All these in TROJAN COUNTRY! 2

We Dedicate the 1968 To SUPERINTENDENT EARL VAN SICKLE who closed his career in education after 34 years at TK. The influence that Van has had on perhaps 3000 youths in these 34 years is inestimable. He has touched and sometimes molded their lives with his wisdom, his interest, and his humor - always confident in the worth of all individuals. He has understood and appreciated the community, threading his tenuous way through diverse opinions and eventually uniting the citizens to build the best ed- ucational program possible. He has lent his personal effort to community projects, sometimes beyond physical endurance. Through 34 years he has made the words TK and Van synonymous.
