Clinton, Iowa STORMING UP A VICTORY The second annual Thomson High School Homecoming was held January 29-31, 1970. The students spent the entire week col- lecting cardboard boxes and Comet cans for the snakedance and bonfire held at Potter's Road Thursday night. The seniors won the bonfire contest by acquiring the most boxes and the freshmen outshouted everyone to win the yelling contest. The seniors were presented a gavel and the freshmen were hailed at school the next day. Friday evening we hosted Bellvue. The J.V. squad won over the Comets 69—52, but the Varsity lost 74--84. Halftime activities included music from the Marching Trojans; our mini-float parade, which the freshmen won; the presentation of the 1970 Homecoming Court; and the corona- tion of the King and Queen. On Saturday evening, the students danced to the sound of The Bismuth. Another successful homecoming was enjoyed by everyone. Doug and Bill working diligently. Rhonda and Karen man the voting table.
