In Mem oriam Zigi 4 ' r f'T,s:H,2a Mr. Frank Cormier Early this fall Thompson was saddened by the passing of Mr. Frank Cormier who had done much for the school and students here at Thompson. - Before coming to Thompson Academy Mr. Cormier lead a somewhat adventurous life, serving on the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Force. Another of his accomplishments was a vital part in the development of the North American Early Warning System. He came to Thompson in 1957 as Farm Manager and the Master ofA Dorm. In 1963, the Farm and Trade School program ended. He then became an Administrative Assistant. He was responsible for the general maintenance of the Island. He was responsible for the remodeling of A, B, and C Dorms, and many other such projects about the Island. His talent as a master builder, coupled with his vast knowledge and experience, made him a valuable and respected man. The loss of his various talents and efforts will be felt here at Thompson Academy for years to come. 4

Appreciation Mrs. Rita Dibble If any woman was asked to take on the duties of a librarian, to be a substitute chef in time of emergency, the first-mate on the Pilgrim III when non-scheduled trips are made, to be ready to receive and entertain any and all visitors to our island, and to be nurse and mother to one hundred and ten boys, with little or no compensation, we would probably be told that this just could not be done by one person. Yet, not only does Mrs. Dibble effortlessly and enthusiastically accomplish all of these tasks, she also cares for the needs of her own three children and Mr. Dibble. While her work has not gone by unnoticed, nor, most importantly unappreciated, it often has gone by unhearalded. It is for this reason that we, the Class of 1970, would like to publicly say to Mrs. Dibble -thank you. In the three years you have been with us we would like you to know that your every effort and contribution to us has been warmly received and greatly appreciated. 3
