ja Yfzfafe 1 X ROBERT R. KITCHING On November 12, 1968, Mr. Robert R. Kitching completed 40 years of service to Thonzpson Academy. Mr. Kitching came to the sclzool in 1928 to be head of the poultry department. For years, Mr. Kitching was responsible for raising all the chickens and eggs consumed at the school. Semi-retired since 1963 when the school .stopped farming, Mr. Kitching still lives in the Main Building and can be seen every morning doing his chores about the school. All of us here at Thompson would like to take this opportunity to salute Mr. Kitclzing for his outstanding dedication to the school. We hope that he will continue his service to Thompson and that we will be able to salute him on future nzilestotzes.

.Zzfllettzo ' ROBERT FRANCIS KENNEDY MARTIN LUTHER KING DWIGHT DAVID EISENHONVER 1925 - 1968 1929 - 1968 1890 - 1969 This page of our yearbook is dedicated to the memory of three great Americans. All three, Dr. Martin Luther King, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Robert F. Kennedy, lzad a dream, and, as all of us know, each man dedicated his life to the fulhllment of his dream. Dr. King dreamed of an America where black men were free from social prejudices and hatreds. He was a man who dreamed of an America where his brothers and sisters could not be denied an education because their skins were black. Martin Luther King's dream was all of this and more, and he died trying to make his dream a reality. General Eisenhower, although he was a military man, dreamed of peace - a lasting peace among nations and among people. He carried this dream to the people of the world, first as Allied Supreme Commander during the Second World War, and tlzen as President of the United States. During his eight years in oUice, President Eisenhower never ceased pursuing his dream. Robert F. Kennedy dreamed of a world of peace and progress for all people but particularly he was an inspiration to the youth of America. Because he rep- resented the ideals of the younger generation, we all saw in him hope for a national leader that could understand Olll' thoughts and resolve our problems. Eaclz of these men, as different as they might have been, represented an idea that could only better mankind. The passing of each means that we have lost a crusader for our own betterment.
