Let it also be said that you are a moral and Christian man. The paths to immorality and vice are enticing and simple to follow. It takes men of char- acter and depth to withstand the pressures that we are exposed to regularly and I charge you to rise to this challenge and meet it fearlessly and bravely. For those of you who will be married men, let it further be said that you are a fine family man. lt is a strange paradox that the act of begetting chil- dren is one of the simplest of all biological acts - while the act of bringing these children up is at once the most difficult and the most rewarding of all things We do in this world. Love your families and be diligent in providing for and protecting them. Lastly, let it also be said that you are a humble man. This does not imply that you are not a brave man. lt means that you are kind, courteous, and friendly. You will find in all walks of life those who are arrogant, selfish, and demanding. Think how you react to them and then contemplate on how people react to you. Make the most of your life and enjoy living. Keep a sense of perspective and honor about yourselves - extend this same consideration to others and you are assured of the 'cgood lifef, I-IOUGHTON DEAN PEARL, HEADMASTER B. S., M. Now it is time to depart from this dependent way of life and start to grow on your own. Each day will provide a new challenge and a new experience - use them wisely to shape and hasten your rate of development. The diploma you receive places you on a new plateau. It is a legal license to take your well-deserved place in the world. Accept the privileges and re- sponsibilities it represents. You have learned words such as honor, integrity, fair play, duty, and leadership but these are no longer just a list of English vocabulary - they now have an inner meaning for you. As you start along the road of life, walk straight, and carry these values with you as though they were your shadow. There will be times when the road looks dark and narrow and at other times bright and leading to great success. As you travel keep in mind this thought WTO thine own self be true and that God will always be with you. You have prospered from a job well done. THOMAS BURNS, DEAN OF BOYS B. S., M. ED., Northeastern University Boston University Came to school in '61
