Dean is' Message Each graduating class has a special distinction. The Class of 1963 is the largest class to he graduated from Thompson Academy and with all those varied talents therein lies the challenge to be the class most successful. When you receive your Thompson Academy diploma I feel you know and have accepted our standards for success to this point, and have acquired the skills to start Well on your way. You are going to be surprised at how much you know, as well as how much you have yet to learn. Success means different things to different people, and seldom does anyone reach the maximum of his capabilities. lf on the way up, a fleeting memory of our admonitions, exhortations, and counsel returns to you occasionally, even once, we will have helped! Be assured our best wishes go with each of you, keep in touch with the Academy, and be proud of the traditions you represent. RAYMOND THOMAS DEAN OF BOYS

ffmdmasfer is' Message' The tempo of our society and the apparent slackening of the moral standards in our cul- ture create innumerable temptations for the young persons entering into the fast-moving current of life today. There is an ever increas- ing indifference the quality of your work, there are many easily acquired vices for the irresolute, there is corruption and graft abroad in our society, attention to appearances and station in life have become an obsession with many, and there is a flagrant disregard for the Christian spirit as it was originally intended. These lures are easily accepted and it will take a stout heart and resolute mind to be responsible. It is our very real hope that we have, somehow, inculcated an appreciation for some of the real values in life into your spirit and that you will exemplify these values in everything that you undertake. The Class of ,63, in many ways, has the capacity for the good life and it is my sincere hope that each of you will measure up to the demands and responsibilities of a worth- while citizenry. HOUGHTON DEAN PEARL, HEADMASTER B.S., M.Ed., University of Vt. Fusion, Algebra Came to school in ,55
