I swear we’ve been through everything there is, Can’t imagine anything we’ve missed, Can’t imagine anything, the two of us can’t do. Through the years, you’ve never let me down, You’ve turned my life around, The sweetest days I found, I found with you. Through the years, I’ve never been afraid, You’ve kissed my tears away, As long as its ok, I’ll stay with you, THROUGH THE YEARS I can’t remember what I used to do, Who I trusted who, and listened to before. I swear you’ve taught me everything I know, Can’t imagine needing someone so, But through the years it seems to me, I need you more and more. Through the years, through all the good and bad, I know how much we’ve had, I’ve always been so glad to be with you. Through the years, I’ve never had a doubt, We’d always work things out, I’ve learned what life’s about, By loving you, THROUGH THE YEARS Gentlemen Prefer Blondes Chris and Mike at the Litchfield Inn Amy, School Sweetheart Cross Country Season IiImum alMUM l-j THS Bears Basketball T H R O U G H T H E Y E A R 97 Christmas Ball Band Concert lation’s public schools are shapingup | f |J © D 3 ThtimasImi pvnpite aVVt c t v:r%£ DEDICATION We the Senior Class dedicate the yearbook to a person who has made our mid-high school years those of fond memory and constant recollection. Over the years, we have grown to see behind the hidden smile and recognize that he has indeed played an important part in our high school years. We hope that in the future we will again meet someone that will make as special an impression on us as you have, Mr. McClay. Thank you 99 Superintendent’s Message In his book, 1984, George Orwell portrayed a society controlled by a huge, impersonal government bureaucracy, which he called “Big Brother.” Personal privacy was non-existent and individual freedoms had long since been lost. The spectre of “1984” is man’s continuing struggle to free the human spirit. The Challenge to the Class of 1984 is much as it has been for each generation. You must renew your own individual freedoms. Freedom is a fragile gift. You must secure anew your rights to personal privacy. The Hope for the Class of 1984 is that great opportunities await you. You stand on the threshold of the Age of Information. With the rudiments of knowledge, talents, and skills you have thus far acquired, it is now left to you to match your talents with the opportunities. Far different from the world of George Orwell, the Class of 1984 will see a world of which we have not yet dreamt. Congratulations and Good Luck. Eugene A. Diggs Superintendent of Schools Principal’s Message To each of the graduates of the Class of 1984, I extend my congratulations and best wishes. Graduation from high school is one of the most outstanding and special moments in your life. It is a time for reflection on the past, while it is also a time for looking forward to the future. In future years you will look back through the pages of this book and recall some of the most important events and challenges of your life. I am sure that for many years to come you will have fond memories of Thomaston High School, and all the people who played an important part in preparing you for the future. Each of you now goes your separate way to meet different challenges and to accomplish different goals in life. The common bond created from your experiences at Thomaston High School will not be lost. My best wishes to each and every one of the graduates for success and happiness throughout the years ahead. Michael F. Piccirillo Principal 100 President’s Message Throughout the years, my friends and I have thought that High School was a never-ending journey. One that would never allow us to enter the fast paced adult world we all so much wanted to be a part of. Well for my classmates and myself the journey is about to begin, many of us will go our separate ways with only this yearbook to help us remember the times we laughed together and cried together here at Thomaston High School. I hope all of my classmates will take with them at least one memory of this school and let it help them in whatever challenges they may face from here on out. To all my friends, and everyone at Thomaston High School I wish you all the luck and happiness in the world. Best Wishes Eric Williams President Senior Class Editor’s Message Working on this yearbook, has been one of the most challenging projects I have ever taken part in during my high school years. Hopefully with the support and satisfaction of my classmates, and of the school, it will also prove to be one of the most rewarding. Many long hours were spent preparing this yearbook, but it would not have been possible without the help of many people. It would be impossible to thank everyone who donated their time and ideas, however, I wish to thank Sheila Tucker, Kris Maillet, and my Business Editor, Donna Pennell, for the fine job they all did. I would especially like to thank Eric Williams, for his many great ideas and for the long hours he spent working with me. Also, I would like to apologize to Mr. Foley, for any problems I may have caused him, and thank him for his time and patience. Through the years at Thomaston High, we have lived, laughed, and cried together. I hope that in this yearbook, we have captured some special moments we all wish to remember. Memories, that in the future, will bring tears to the eyes, and joy to the heart, as we remember our special years atTHS.
