EDITORIAL The foundation for leadership and adequate representation in a community lies within the walls of the school. It is here that the student learns the basic fundamentals of citizenship in this democratic nation. Today, as each senior prepares to leave school, he is confronted with the problems of choosing his vocation. The importance of his decision must be realized, for, whether it be furthering his education in college or business school, working in a factory, or joining the Armed Forces, his life pattern is being irreparably molded. However, the school is not entirely responsible for forming the character and personality of the student or for training him for social life. Environment plays a large part too. Family life, religious training, the various recreational, social, and cultural activities, and the people of a community all influence the individual. The future of every community lies with those who prepare for it; therefore, it is up to today's youth to preserve every right and privilege to which he is entitled. The wheels of time continue to revolve and with them the makings of tomorrow. 2 3 5 THE FACULTY HAROLD MONSON, B.A., M.A. Candidate for Ph.D. Superintendent of Schools ALBERT B. EBNER, Ph.B., Ed.M.
