EUNICE MERRYMAN CUSTER COUNTY TEACHER of the YEAR Mrs. Merryman, the master teacher, once again proves that loving your work and caring for those you work for will bring respect and accomplishment. Her understanding of children’s formative years and her love for little people make her presence priceless these past thirteen years in the Thomas Schools. For this, and her contribution to all areas of educa- tion, we proudly dedicate this annual to her. He eontributed his bent and would on occasion during off hour bring hi friend to the nchool to show them around. ADMINISTRATION Dwaine Schneider Superintendent After graduating from Custer High School, Mr. Schneider attended college at SWOSU and OU. During his years at col- lege, he earned a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree in edu- cation, a secondary degree and a professional certificate in administration. Mr. Schneider began his teaching career in Bradley, Oklahoma, where he not only taught, but also coached girls’ basketball for three years. He then moved to Custer. He taught in Custer for nine years, seven of which he served as their high school principal. Mr. Schneider has served as superintendent of the Thomas school system for eleven years. He and his wife, Wanda, reside in the Thomas community and are the parents of Vickie, Tom, Vinita and Valinda. Mr. Schneider enjoys fishing, traveling and golf. Member; and Malcolm Paty, Vice-president. 6 5 GRADE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL Tom Murray Tom Murray has been a 6th grade teacher in the Thomas School for the past 16 years, and has been principal of the elementary for eight of those years. His wife, Norma, also teaches in Thomas. They have two children. Penny and Jim Tom. Mr. Murray received his Bachelor’s degree from SWOSU, as well as his Master’s degree. Before coming to the Thomas school system, he taught 2 years at Reydon, 2 years in Elk City and 2 years in Liberal, Kansas. He enjoys hunting, skiing-water and snow and carpentering. HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL Jim Litsch A graduate of Fay High school, Mr. Litsch received his Master’s degree from SWOSU and his degree in administration from OU. He taught at Fay for 12 years where he also coached basketball. As the Fay students came to Thomas, so came Mr. Litsch. He has taught and served as principal in Thomas School for ten years. Mr. Litsch and his tyife, Peggy, live in Fay with their two children, Kelli and Staci. He farms, raises cattle and is an avid sports fan. Janie Stevens — SECRETARY Janie Stevens, a friendly, out-going person, is the secretary to Mr. Schneider. She is in charge of financial and student records for the school. Janie graduated from Custer High School and went on to SWOSU to further her education. She and LeRoy have three sons — James, Daron, and Devin.
