Text from Pages 1 - 128 of the 1974 volume:

THE 1974 TERRIER Jake is our mascot we all know and love, We thank the good Lord he was sent from above. He watches the game from out on the track Whether we win or lose, he still smiles back. He is the symbol of spirit and pride That all of us cherish deep down inside. SENIORS '74 t Thomas Public School Thomas, Oklahoma Volume VII FRONT ROW: Cheryl Otwell, Kim Snider, Max Simpson, Karen Cunell, Melvin Huckins, Randy Preston, Karla Drake, Bobby Potter, BACK ROW: Betty Pike, Shirley Gibson, Paula Polk, Janice Robinson, Mrs. Haggard, Kimmy Roof, Angie Stinson, and Dana Hammons 2 The community of Thomas has been made richer by a woman who is remembered most often by her happy smile and cheery sense of humor. A woman who was a devoted wife and mother, she always took pride in all she did. For 13 years she conscientiously served as an elementary teacher in the Thomas Schools. With great respect the 1974 annual staff dedicates this annual to the memory of LONNIE FAYE ROSS. i SUPERINTENDENT’S MESSAGE Certainly it is appropriate that I commend the Annual Staff and their sponsor for an accurate account of this school year at Thomas. The school faculty, students and administration are indebted to the individuals and businesses who constantly contribute time and money to this and other projects. It is my belief that the school family is worthy and deserving of this support and that by support- ing each other we can enjoy successes in the future as in the past. BOARD OF EDUCATION Ross Pickens, President; Dale Stinson, Vice-President; Dick Frans, Clerk; Eddie Perkins, Member; and Kent Kirkpatrick, Member Principal’s Message HIGHSCHOOL Excellence is something we all admire, and we should all try to build up towards someone rather than tearing them down to your level. ELEMENTARY I’ve seen the annual staff members being active during the yeafT'roeevi dence of this book shows thatltheir efforts have been well spent.! The satisfactions and rewards for producing such a fine memory as this book are deserving of congratulations To Mrs. Haggard and her fine staff, may 1 extend heartiest congratula- tions. 5 ATTY DUNCAN CLAIRE CC „ , MARSHA ROOF _ .
