Dedication The 1958 TRISKELE proudly dedicates its pages to Lieutenant tjgi Thomas E. Ries. Although he spent only twenty-four short years on earth, he left his foot- prints in the sands of time for others to follow. T0 Tom, what others needed or wanted was more important than his own wishes. In this way, his life became one continuous gift. He gave of his material possessions, efforts and time to help others. It is known that he handed his last two dollars to a person who needed it more than he did, and that, though he was ill himself, he got up to help a friend who was sick. As a final sacrifice, in Which he shonened his lifetime in serving another . . . his country . . . Lt. Ries gave his life in jet maneuvers in the Caribbean on November 4, 1957. The sands of time have disturbed the footprints of this Navy jet flier. But they cannot completely cover the marks left by his kindness and generosity. To Lieutenant Ries, we dedicate the TRISKELE, and from the short time of his life and from all the time he gave to others, we choose its theme . . .
