You've got :0 be demanding because there are many snakes to deal with when it comes time to collect your money. There are other missionaries who work for you, and without their help I wouldn't have survived an otherwise torturous assignment. And those who tried to compile the index, took on the job with little or no experience Han Dang and I. were respunsible for typing all the names, per page, into the computer and the computer entered those names into the index. We did our best to make sure that everyone was torrectly identified and that every name was correctly spelled, but occasionally an error would slip by us. We hope that all the names in the index are Correct, but with complications such as nick-names and name variations, it is mOSt likely that there are a few mistakes, We hope that those who discover that their name is misspelled will be understanding. In a school the size of ours, it is difficult - at least e to chetk name spellings for every student. In fact, our proof sheet, a matrix of names compiled in the central office, may have been incorrect. Wesley Monte, our IBM whiz, was in charge of calling the index, correcting it, and printing it out. He deserves much gratitude because he spent several days of his summer in the journalism room with me, the computer, and the index, Christine Barton Editotvin-Chief En0rm0us Thanks to... It's really been an interesnng ttip - 1988' 89. We had great times, not so great times and then thete were those strange times that that no one could explain. As we look back we will temembet the year for the new 'iclosed campus tules, which fetced all students to become intimately familiar with the cafeteria and courtyard. Teachers took on lunch duty, while everyone took in the new atmosphere of the eating area - which was very nice even if we couldn't use out cats to get thete. The freshmen didn't make a very big splash as they entered TJ. Most people seemed happy about that. Maybe the Class of 1992 Will be more reserved and scholarly? The school yeat was matked with some great new beginnings as the Class of 1989 prepared to take its leave. Mst Smith Started what promised to be an annual Fine Atts FeStival, and she also initiated a new recycling program which made use of the 50 or so cases of aluminum soda cans that we all went through on a daily basis. Hurricane Gilbert threatened the Southeast Texas area, but didn't have the guts to show up here, We get two days off for the occasion, but it also meant that the school dxsttict had to make up those last days, so everyone - excluding those lucky seniots e stayed in school that extra day in June. June. That brings to mind vacation. That brings to mind adventure So, as we end this trip down and throughout our collective memory routes, we each take diverging paths, Most will tctum to map out anothet year, while Others build new toads to distant and hopefully te- warding places.
