IRighO A QUEEN AND HER KING? - Cav-Ochude queen Tina Deleon and Her escort Phil Fonts pole Cav-Oil-cade goes Texas mutmgziym by Kim Howell he 52 Cavoilcade princesses T prepared for the October activities. HGetting things together is just about the hardest part, says Cheryl Are naud, To kick off Caviolcade. all the girls get together with their mothers for a tea at Rose Hill Manor. The princesses' pic- tures were also on display at the Allied Merchants Bank by Frank Cricchio. During school it was sometimes hard to keep up with your homework and par- ticipate in rehearsal which lasted till 10 pm. The coronation stage was set for Oc- tober 20, with giant bright stars. It was now time for former queen Paige Lawson to give up her crown The Master of Ceremonies named Miss Congeniality - Mary Ann Goudeaux which was chosen by all the girls. The Lady in Waiting, which was picked from the out of Town Duchess, was Cyndi Reynolds from Port Neches, The 4 finalists were named Don- na Domingue, Renee Hawkins, Mary Beth Draugh, Suleika Gonzalez. The second runner up was Risa Rising, first runner up was Cassie Throgmorten. How the time everyone waited for was here, the New 1983 Cavoilcade Queen was Tina DeLeon. Tina took her first formal walk across the stage after being crowned. The girls then left the Civic Center to attend a party at the Boham's house. Pic- tures were taken as everyone socialized around. Many of the princesses then after the Boham's went on to other parties, not realizing they had school the next day. Saturday everyone was up bright and early to attend the parade. With cars and princess fixed up under the Texas style theme. After the parade the cars drifted to the Seawall for a lunch given by the department club. Saturday night everyone went to the Civic Center to see Roger V. Everyone danced and laughed as Roger V. enter- tained all. Since this was the last formal event of Cavoilcade everyone made the best of it Sunday night the fireworks display went off with a bang to end the 1983 Cavoilcade celebration.
