This Annual is dedicated to Henry Honk Clark The death of Coach Henry Honk Clork mode February 3, 1952 0 very mourntuI doy. Cooch Clerk was an inspiration to students, teachers, and othletes or Thomas Jefferson for 35 years. In honor of his dedicated service, the Spirit and Desire Aword was changed to the Honk Clork Aword. Clark was looked up to by all who knew him. Prin- cipal Rouel Rothenberger expressed his views about Clerk's death by saying, We lost 0 tradition and 0 fine example for students and teachers. Bill Meehon said, Honk Clark was 0 great man whose legacy is the many successful students and players he influenced. I feel very fortunate to have known him. He was 0 winner on Earth and I know that he is on even greater winner in Heaven. Athletes viewed Ciork with great admiration and respect. Sheo Walker, who gave on exceptional speech on Clerk at the football banquet, said, His knowledge and actions set on example for everyone. Dorren Terrell further explained, To me, Coach Clerk was an inspiration to the team and will never be forgotten. Morty Totum also commented, Coach Clark was one of the first coaches I had contact with at T.J. As 0 sophomore, I played defensive back and spent most of my practice time with him. I got to know him well and the more I knew him the more I liked him. He told me lots of stories and I think that's what I miss most. Yes it's true. A legend and a hero is gone, but his memory will live on to inspire us forever, Rest in peace, Coach Clark.
