Cheerleaders express Yhe Blg M with o 14 ft. high pyromld. :1. t That's what you call bendan over backwards for a friend! After three months of hard summer practice the Varsity Cheerleaders attended summer camp at Sam Houston State University. For one week the glrls learned new cheers and chants, and com- peted against different squads from all over Texas. Each night they were rated on their performance and over a period of one week they obtained five superior ribbons, and four spirit stlcks. At the end of the week, Saturday was the final evaluation, and theit most superior award. The Yellow Jacket cheerleaders were chosen as one of the top eight squads ot SHSU Cheerleading comp, something that had never been done in the history of the school. The cheerleaders continued with 0 most spectacular year under the sponsor of Miss Sherrie Sanngeto. The splrlt leaders for the 1961432 school year, are senlor cheerleaders, Beth Killebrew, Monique Morroquin, Gino Potlnol theod cheerleadeo DeAndreo Prevost, and Anita Romero.
