WE DEDICATE . . . The 1959 Yellow Iatkel staff takes great pleasure in dedicating this year- book to Miss Burdette Smyth, who has served Thomas Jefferson faith- fully for more than three decades. In 1958 Miss Smyth founded the Junior Classical League, thus making it one of the oldest and most in- teresting clubs on the campus. Needless to say, the Language Department as well as TJ itself will never be quite the same without the guidance of Miss Smyth, head of Foreign Language Department. Lots of happiness, Miss Smyth, as you begin your well-deserved retirement.
