We, gy T, J MR. EVERITT I. MOAK J ., One of Jefferson's many courses offered this year is Diversified Cooperative Training, better known as DCT r ' We are fortunate tc have Mr. Everett l, Moak as instructor. He attended Galion High School in Galion, Ohio, and later, Ohio State University and Florida State University. The degrees he has earned are a BS. in Education and an MS, degree. Besides teaching a very interesting course, he also sponsors the DCT. Club. His hobbies are many and include fishing, bowling and do it yourself home projects Obviously he uses his talent and tim carefully and often advises his students Use your head for something besides a hat rack Mr Moak is not only wonderful as a teacher but also as a sort of guidance counselor to the many students who come to him for advice on their careers and jobs He is willing to lend a helping hand when the occasion arises Mr Moak as he listens to student s explanation MRS FRANCES RUTH JONES The importance of a good lrbrary to a school cannot be measured it is like the hub of a wheel The entire school revolves around it and like the hub it is of no use by itself lt must have support Mrs Frances Ruth Jones our Librarian has a great responsibility in the library It is her rob to keep our library at its present high standard and to improve it when possible She attended Little Rock High School Little Rock Arkansas She also attended two colleges Michigan State College and Simmons College At the latter she received her A B degre in Library Science As a pastime she enloys reading golf and sewing She supports and sponsors the Scholarship Inc Club Mrs Jones is very helpful to both the students and the teachers in helping them with any problems dealing with books they may have She is also one of the friendliest teachers we have but has one pet peeve and that is students who copy encyclopedla articles word for word So students beware of what you do you may be being watched Mrs Jones diligently looks for reference book 20.8 5 Q I EI Mas MARY ELIZABETH MATHIS To a good school the guidance counselor is of great impor tance Here at Jefferson High School Mrs Mary Elizabeth Mathis holds this important position and does a wonderful iob She fortunately for us is not restricted to one type of problem Many of the students take their many problems to her to seek advice these ranging from dating to career prob lems Her high school Kemper Hall Kenoska Wisconsin is n L outstanding one She attended two universities Northwestern and the bniversity of Illinois She holds an A B degree She -i, also has four daughters who keep her quite busy but what fu- spare time she does have is spent delving into dramatics 071. A pet peeve af Mrs Mathis is seeing girls wearing hair clips I1 in school really seems ridiculous to her as it does to many of the women teachers at Jefferson Importance of the right job is stressed by Mrs Mathis 21 . 3 . . ,, 5' r , , I I I 3 t , , I I ' I , . ,I 'I ' I , I V , , 0 '---4.0 1, ' sn- ' ff x A , 2 2244 x .
