HISTORY When the word history is men- tioned it brings to mind famous events of the past which a student may have previously studied in one of his classes namely history History is the study of famous persons or events of the past mann ly because present events connot be printed as rapidly as they occur This course offers the chance study our ancestors and their prog ress in developing such a great nation as ours It gives us the chance to study their mistakes and faults so we may profit by their examples History is taught so as to give students an idea of things which might occur in the future John Palmer: points to Sondra Lewis a historical spot on the globe with Roland Rogert diligently working on his project I ART Art classes taught by Mr Car doso are composed of students who have an interest and talent in this sublect In this class students learn the basic fundamentals of art as well as learning to actually draw They learn to create are taught new methods of art and are given new ideas and ways to improve their work They study famous artists such as Rembrant da Vinci and many others The different master pieces of other famous artists are also taught Q Criticism is offered to art student by fellow classmates

SCIENCE We are proud of our Science De- partment at Jefferson, One of our most interesting fields of science, Physics, is taught by Mr, Rosete This course is composed of stu- dents with a B or better average in math and also with four years' background in other fields of math, ln order to get a deeper understand- ing and to go into the subject more thoroughly, this class meets on Thursdays and Fridays at eight o'clock in the morning 15 'Y' XE- The chemistry classes have a new teacher this year, Mr. Moradiellos. In this course we learn about the ele- ments of nature and its chemical and physical changes. We also study formulas and equations which are connected with the many various ele- ments, some of which were made by man, Other science courses offered in Jefferson are: Biology I, Biology ll and Advanced Science, Bill Moyer and Gloria Saguc smile happily at the results of the Physics experiment.
