Academics CAREER DAY Career Day at Jefferson was held on Gctober 28 l959 It was brought to us by the Chamber of Commerce and the HIIlsborough County School Board College and UHIVGFSITY representatIves In cooperatIon wIth the Armed Forces and dIstInguIshed busnnessmen and wom en partIcIpated In gIvIng advnce and an swerIng questIons whIch students may have had about theIr chosen careers In order to Introduce and exploIn Career Day to our students an assembly was held durung whIch hosts and host esses were Honor SOCIETY and Future Teachers Three very dIstInguIshed speakers talked on dIfferent phases of careers and explaIned the Importance of a career to Jefferson students The speakers were Mr KIrkpatrIck from Byron Harless and ASSOClOfe Mr Dave ErwIn and Mrs D MItcheIl from the county OfflCe ExhIbIts were set up In the gym so students could have a better understandIng of theIr chosen courses The evaluatIon sheets whIch the students completed showed much Interest toward Career Day It IS because of the wIde Interest of the students that we wIII con Member of flre department glves Inform Mr KIrkpatrIck gIves a very Informahve speech to the student body as Mr D Erwm Mrs D MItcheIl Bllly Vargas Presldent of Student Councul and Mr B Alonzo Prlnclpal Ilsten tInue Career Day as a yearly event In all HIllsborough County schools Jefferson IS proud and honored to be ID charge of plannnng Career Day for all schools In Tampa next year ThIs honor was made possIble because Jefferson had the best Career Day program In the cIty atIve speech to Interested students durlng Career a 'Q 'El .A..L.J N l I , - . 1' ' t . !
