PRESIDENTS When it comes to planning the events lor the year, we can count on our own board of directors, sponsored by Mr. Alonso. This group is made up of the presidents of all our student organizations, just as its name implies. Questions concerning conflicts between clubs and COUNCH school activities are settled here. The purpose of the club as well as all other clubs is to serve the school, students, and community. To sum it all up, these students have a hand in every problem brought up here in school. SCHOLARSHIP,INC. All students maintaining a high average throughout their high school years are automatically inducted into Scholarship Inc. This group's main project is the presen- tation of a scholarship to one of its members. lt also makes available information on scholarships for the students' use with the help of Mrs. Iones, their sponsor. Our present officers were elected after the inaucticr. of Bertha Perez, loyce Lazarra, and Iulie Cannella into Honor Society. Definitely this club is worthy of having the name Scholarship, lnc. Mrs. tones, our librarian, although quite a in the manner in which the library is operated. WitE1 valuable person in the library, can't possibly help every student at once. Therefore the library assistants take a great part of the burden. They assist the students and teachers in choosing the books they need. Another job is keeping our library attractive. OFFICE The office assistants at lefferson are a valuable asset to our offices, These dependable, and aggressive students devote one period a day performing many tasks such as: answering the phone, sending messages, the desks in order, checking the infirmary keeping assistants' help the sophomores learn about our library and how to choose books and find information. lt is a great responsibility to keep our library running smoothly and the student body extends its appreciation to Mrs. lones and the library assistants. ASSISTANTS needs, and many other worth while tasks. By doing these many different jobs, they make the deans' and secretaries' work less complicated. This little store has pencils, paper, note- books, or anything else one might need for school. SAFETY Urging all teenagers to abide by the rules and pro- mote the Safety First Motto is the foremost Job of the Safety Council. The members of this group serve as traffic patrols. The Safety Councils main duty each year is to make Student council members donate part of their lunch period each clay to operate the bookstore. This service should be appreciated and acknowledged by all leffer- son students. COUNCH sure that all licenses of students' cars have been regis- tered in the main office.
