Seniors at last! This past year, which we have awaited so eagerly, has been filled with exciting moments which will long be remembered. The election last spring of the Student Participation officers marked the actual beginning of our senior year, for members of our own graduating class were to become the leaders of the entire student body. We elected Meade Christian, president, Nancy LaPrade, vice-president, Nancy Lee Leidy, recording secretary, Judy Pollard, corresponding secretary, and Buck Flournoy, treasurer. Also elected at this time were the seven senior senators and the officers of the senior class. All have worked hard for Thomas Jefferson during this past year and have set an example for the rest of the student body to follow. In the fall Thomas Jefferson received a new addition. Alain Wer- brouck, foreign exchange student from France, did not waste any time in adiusting to America and Richmond. His personality endeared him to all whom he met, and the Class of T959 was for- tunate in having him share with them both the happiness and the hard work of our senior year. Football, basketball, and baseball games were doubly exciting with our classmates holding lead- ing positions. Nancy Lee Leidy, elected Miss Jeff by the student body, reigned at the annual Thom- as Jefferson-John Marshall football game. At the Senior-Junior, entitled Winter Wonderland, Meade Christian and Sally Sheppard were crowned king and queen and reigned throughout the night. Now that graduation is only a few days away, we suddenly realize how much Thomas Jefferson means to us. Some of us will go to college, while others will accept iobs in various fields of interest. Whatever we may do and wherever we may go, we will always remember Thomas Jefferson, and the ideals it has instilled in us.
