Moods . . . all day long. each and every season. What are the moods of a day? Of a year? The drowsy mood of early morning as reluctant steps take you to school . . . the intense mood of concentration during an exam . . . the carefree, exciting mood of a winning basket . . . the uncontrolled, the exuberant mood of 3:15 dis- missal . . . the languorous mood of the rain wet pavement and soft glowing street lights . . . the in- toxicating rhythmical mood of the Friday night dances . . . the dream mood of young love . . . the somber mood of the dignity of graduation . . these are a few of the moods of a school year . . . these we will try to capture for you through words and pictures. 3

i Z n Tee ,lay lost a valuable teacher in 1959 when lVlr. Edward Jewett, freshman science teacher, passed away. His work and diligence will be greatly missed by students and faculty alike. He will always be remembered as a friend of each shy freshman who entered his class as he will likewise be remembered by his co-workers. lVlr. Jewett taught at Thomas Jefferson for thirty years. ln that time he was active in the local teachers union. In addition he was in . . Q . f his sixth year as national vice-president of the American Federation o Teachers. Just as at school he was a quiet but effective worker in this organization. 5
