AS WE SADLY ROAM THE CORRIDORS OUR LAST WEEK AT SCHOOL. WE FIND WE ARE REMINDED EVEN NOW OF THE MEMORIES LEFT BEHIND. OF OUR FRIENDS AND TEACHERS WHO THROUGH, WITHOUT CO-OPERATION WORKED FOR FOUR YEARS TO HELP PREPARE US FOR FUTURE OCCUPATION. WITH TEAR FILLED EYES WE ALL RECALL OUR CHILDISH PRANKS AND THEN WE START TO LAUGH, BUT REMEMBER THEY ARE GONE AND OUR EYES FILL ONCE AGAIN. ITIS SO VERY HARD IN WORDS TO SAY LFAREWELL TO THINGS YOU LOVED SO AND YOUR CLASSMATES PART AT THE DOOR BUT PLAN TO MEET ON THE ROAD TO SUCCESS WITH FOND MEMORIES EVERMORE. Of course you remember and you know you will miss them all very much Many of us can remember the magazme sale that was sponsored by the whole school, and whole-hearted way we spent our spare t1me to raise money for our school. The Christmas card sale proved very economical and succesful for we seniors, who went out and really put our time and energy to good use. Now as we march down the field to Poms of Circumstancef' we shed a tear or two for leaving the friends and school, which seemed like our l family and home for the fom' years we have spent in its surroundings. UNIDR Class With the beginning of Spring graduation time grows near. And thus next fall the Juniors will take the places left vacant by the Senior class. With various outstanding talents represented in the class of 1954, it expects to maintain the highest standards set by the previous Senior Class at Thomas Jefferson High School. President Dennis Drake with Secretary Marilyn Young and Treasurer Leo Tierney make up the panel of the Junior class The sponsors elected by the class are Mrs Daley and Mr Scott Class llffieers James Philpott, Junior class President, and Vice if M. .int lx? The Act put on by the lettermen is always one of the highlights of the Road Show and this year was no exception. The name of the act was Fuedin', Fussin', and Fightn'. Some of the boys in their mother's clothes, hats and other garb, put on a most hilarious per- formance which was enjoyed very much by all. Left to right are: Joan Chase, Josephine Rager, Frannie Johnson. Phyllis Wray, Ray Myers, Roberta Coleman, Janie Burkhart, William Witzke and Donald Hansen. Dirty Work at the Cross Roads or The Villian Still Pursued her, was another of the more hilarious acts in the 1953 Road Show Shown here are the stars of the act. Crystal Stogdill portraying the heroine and Ed Wilson the Hero in this old fashioned Melo dramer. Due to the unforseen absence of the dramtics teacher, Mrs. Daley, the Senior class was unable to present a play production this year. 0 The A cappella choir presented the operetta Naughty Marietta by Victor Herbert. The story is of an Italian girl who fell in love with an American soldier. Some of the main characters are pictured here. Tom Ault, Joe Calahan, Loren Greenlee and Mary Sondag. Under the excellent tutorage of Mr. Capel the team raced to a total of 13 wins while dropping 12 contests. ln inter-city competition they won 9 and lost 5 to take third place in conference standings. Never having played on a home floor was a definite handicap to our boys, so next year we can expect bigger and even a more impressive win column for thi.s team. FRESHMAN SQUAD f l The Freshman squad this year, coupled with the new gymnasium, gives new hope to fans and players alike, that in the future we can expect big things from the basketball end of our sports program. The Freshman win-loss column was not impressive, but the over all team balance and at- titude is as good as has ever been at the Yellowjacket school. These virtues, along with the excellent coaching they will receive in coming seasons. are an unbeatable combination. I 'ir This is it! The day of days for the boys of R.0.T.C. The ho ur they have worked, and drilled, and studied, and planned for. The time when they find out the results of their efforts. The F ederal nspection!
