512501 Dfkcazi . . . Finishing a successful year are, left to right, Miss Helen Exley and Mr. Orville Orr, sponsors, Bob Worsing, president, Pauline Woolsey, vice-presidentg Eula Coffman, secretary, and Lawrence Geppert, treasurer SENIORS Sweeping up the honors due a senior class, 247 students followed President Bob Worsiiig, VicefPresident Pauline Woolsey, Secretary Eula Coffman, and Treasurer Lawrence Geppert in their many and varied efforts to support an annual and buy a gift in war time. These hard workers had as their capable advisors and sponsors Miss Helen Exley and Mr. Orville Orr. First and foremost were the seniors in efforts to finance the projects. The selling of decals and felt pins, the bifweekly dances in the drill hall, and daily candy sales were all tried and found successful. 'LScattin' Through Manhattan, theme of the 1942 Senior Road Show, was presented to the public on April 17 and 18. Violet Volz and other seniors working on various committees worked long and hard to make the Road Show a success. A particularly hard job was completed when all the funds were finally accumf ulated to finance the 1942 Monticello, which was printed this year with a limited number of ads. With most of the syndicated strips attending, a comic strip party was given as the senior frolic. Refreshments were served from l'Pop's Lunch, and mountains of sandwiches and cookies dwindled to plains before the onslaught of the hungry seniors. Lady of Letters, a sparkling comedy, was presented on Friday, March 13, as the senior play. With bad luck omens meaning little to them, Marjabelle Bryant and Robert Callison gave stellar performances, amply supported by the entire cast. June 4. day of graduation. arrived all too soon, and the senior class, minus a few boys who left to join the Armed Forces, marched up the aisle with their colors of rose and silver proudly displayed. The class of '42 left with the wish that other senior classes of years to come would receive their diplomas in times of peace and security, rather than war.
