B-Team Grapplers 1 Remain District Champs ' Once again the B-Team grapplers took the district title. The Foxes didn't have a hard time defending their title as they dominated the tournament along with Burgess. Eastwood fol- lowed in third as Austin closed in on fourth. The Foxes also received the St. John Iver Memorial sportmanship for the second consecutive year. This was only the second year of the tournament for B-teamers, as it was all started last year by Coach Michael Edwards. Returning varsity letterman, Benny Benavides was unable to wrestle var- sity due to district zoning which caused him to be ineligible. Therefore he had to wrestle B-team. Selected as captain of the B-team he set a great example for his team- mates as he went all the way to win his division, C1193, in district. Other gold medalists were Alfred Flores C1053, and Greg Natividad C1673. Silver medal winners included Wctor Arriola, C1013, and Joe Ochoa, heavyweight. Fernie Garcia C1053, David Herrera C1143, Danny RuelasC1193, and 1 Fabian Frausto C1483, concluded the list of bronze medalists. Among winning his division, Benny , Benavides received the award for the fastest pin, which he captured with a pin of :22 seconds.
