The Racer's Edge Camacho Qualifies for State The girls' varsity went to Lubbock to compete in regional competition. I couldn't believe it, said Patsy Juarez as Andress was favored. I knew we could do it, said Bertha Hernandez. They went to regionals because they qualified as one ot the top three teams in the girls' division at the district meet held at Coronado. The girls' varsity was composed of top runner, Carmen Jaime 1121, Ber- tha Hernandez Cl 23, Patsy Juarez Q1 lj, Mona Salas C1 U, and Corina Alarcon C1 U. For the boys, the only qualifier was Rudy Camacho C121 He came in 7th with a time of 9:44. He also was the only member of the Jeff cross country team to qualify for state competition. He came in with a respectable place of 18th. Rudy ran a beautiful race, said Coach Polhamus. I hope to continue running after I graduate, said Rudy Camacho.
