Agonyof Defeat. . . O-9 The Baby Fox football team was blanked out in every game. They did not achieve a single win all season long under Coach Xavier Perea and Assistant Coach Grayson Gwyn. The standouts of the team were quarter- back Manuel Labrado, Martin Luna, Danny Gonzalez, Arturo Watkins and Ruben Ramirez. t'We were very inexperienced, said assistant Coach Grayson Gwyn. Despite all their losses, the team mem- bers still had spirit as Martin Luna was quoted as saying he would try harder to make more touchdowns in the sea- son. The freshman team had many members with the same attitude. lnthe Long Run. Milers Cfl and Running Under the leadership of first year coach, Robert Polhamus, the milers got off to a slow start. They came in tenth place at the Bel Air and Coro- nado invitationals. This is a sport that is composed of hard work, determination, long hours and self pride, stated Mr. Polhamus. All these qualifications are very important to a good runner. Practice consisted of long distance running to places like Riverside, Fort Bliss, and the hilly streets up by Rad- ford non-stop. Practice is hard but worth it, said Rudy Valdez C123.
