if - New Days, New Ways K nior Espie Burrola and Senior Alex Mora ently listen to President Lety Frecas while a meeting, Student Council has been one of the oldest and biggest clubs on campus. The club first originated in 1949 which was used to help out in Public Ser- vices. The Council members partici- pated in activities such as visiting the elders, visiting the ill, and holding can and toy drives for the poor. For money making projects the council sold school emblems and help a Twirp Week. During this week the girls did special things for the boys. ln 1968 Student Council began the tradition of honoring an outstanding student as Fox of the Month. Unfortu- nately the tradition did not last long. By 1979 they no longer held this election. With all these projects, the council soon raised enough money to buy a modern wood framed jukebox which they installed in the cafeteria.
