.Jalderon Teaches On-the-Job Training l l V.O.E. Co-op is a program which las established in 1965 by Mrs. Lstrella Calderon. Mrs. Calderon is resently the sponsor of this pro- lram. This Co-op program gives stu- lents on-the-job training for Voca- onal Office Jobs. ln 1965 students had to have basic kills such as typing, shorthand, and or accounting and had to be at least 6 years of age. Presently students ire required to take V.O.E. Lab. This lrospectus was established in 1972 my Mrs. Leona Mclfarlin. The pur- iose of the program was to help enrich the knowledge skills of the students for the jobs. The students in V.O.E. Co-op are trained to work such equipment as electronic calculators, duplicating and transcribing machines. They must also learn the proper proce- dures for filing and answering the telephones. These students are part of the many who work half day and attend school half day. V.O.E. Co-op is one of the classes the students must sign up for. While in this one hour class they brush up on such skills as personality development, human relations, and the necessities for one to hold a job and be a suc- cessful employee. After graduation the students do not have to leave their jobs. Most stu dents keep them as part-time jobs.
