Adjusting to High School life was quite an experience for Barbara San- doval. She enjoys being part of the Jefferson pride. Tennis is one sport she enjoys playing. She feels people like participating in sports because it gives them an opportunity to compete against different people from other schools. It also gives the student something else to do besides study, said Bar- bara. She has been playing Tennis on and off for the last four years. At enter- ing Jefferson this year Miss Eva Lopez, Physical Education teacher, asked Barbara to join the Varsity Tennis Team. She had the privilege of being the only sophomore in the team and the honor of advancing up to the top six ratings. Barbara anxiously awaits to hit the ball.

Freshmen this year seem to be more confident of themselves as in the past years. They seem to be not as shy and a bit more knovvledgeable, as is freshmen Maribel Fraire. She is pres- ently a member of the Freshmen Council and is Parliamentarian. Mari- bel is also into the B-Team Volleyball team. 'll enjoy Jefferson because ofthe friendliness of the students and teach- ers, stated Maribel. Not having tried out for sports at Henderson vvhere she last attended. she found it very hard to try out forthe B-Team Volleyball team here.
