Through various techniques, the staff designed and arranged the newspaper in a way that brought an increase in sales. Added pictures, copy and different cover designs included major changes. With a staff of thirteen, twice as large as last year, they produced a bi- centennial monthly newspaper. Spe- cial issues, such as a Bi-Centennial penny press, sixteen-page Home- coming issue, plus the five-cent four pagers were new additions. Staff members attended a week long U.T. El Paso summer journalism workshop designed to aid students in journalism.
