Female squads at Ieff support the greatest number of returning letter- men. The girls have not only excelled in each of the sports but have also managed a complete domination of team members on the All-District squad. The club sponsor is Miss Yvonne Franco. In seasonal play, volleyball players captured the district hard- ware on both the varsity and B-Team level. In basketball the female cagers repeated the honors by defending the district crown in both B-Team and varsity squads.

The club dec- orated the library during Christmas, Homecoming and for National Library Week. The club attended a district meeting at Fort Stockton, Tex. They also went to a workshop at Loretto High School. Officers for the year were President Nancy Carreon, Vice-President Maria Hernandez, Aid-to-the Presi- dent Terry Corral, Historian Hilda Perez, Parliamentarian Gina Ponce and Publicity Pat Loya. Slave Sale lnitiates Students The Future Teachers of America Club aided substitute teachers in classroom preparation techniques. The club sent Becky Diaz and Cathy Bustamante to a state convention in Houston. They had a slave sale for initiation. Their activities were a Christmas party, a lollipop sale, baked goods for Teachers' Apprecia- tion Week and took candy to the children at Thomason General Hos- pital. Officers were Becky Diaz, presidentg Cathy Bustamante, vice-president: Lizzy Hernandez, secretary, Marcia Reyes, parliamentarian and Billie Moya historian.
