,ey Training students for the business world in the field of marketing and distribution is what Distributive Education is all about. Competing at contest, Rosa Santana placed first in area for job interview and competed at state. At the city competition in public speaking, Christy Chavez placed third and Luis Martinez placed fourth. Placing sec- ond in display was Iohn Delgado. In city-wide competition for Stu- dent-Of-The-Year, Luis Martinez and Luz Gonzales were both first runners-up. The club's activities included initia- tion, a Christmas party at the Hilton- Inn and an Employer-Employee Ban- quet at the Civic Center. For a fund-raising project, the club sold plastic Looney Tunes charac- ters. The money they made was donated to the school. Other projects included two inventories at Rhodes, with the money being used for the Senior Farewell. Officers were Luis Martinez, presi- dentg Luz Gonzales, vice-president: Cindy Lopez, secretaryg Belinda Ortiz, historiang Iohn Delgado, reporter and George Hernandez, ser- geant-at-arms.
