Clerical Emplo ment Provided In its third year of existence at Ieffer- son, the Vocational Office Education Lab accomplished more than it set out to do. Representing Ieff for the first time in V.O.E. Lab State compe- tition in Houston, Tex. were Luz De La Rosa and Martha Rivas. The V.O.E. Lab is for juniors who want to become office workers. In order to be accepted to the senior Co-Op class, students must have had the Lab course. This past year's officers were Presi- dent Felicitas Galvan, Vice-President Patty Puga, Secretary Sammy Mar- quez, Treasurer Angie Rios, Reporter Toni Betancourt and Historian Gus- tavo Luna. As fund-raising projects, they typed letters and envelopes for an El Paso firm and worked at the Rhodes and Popular inventories. faj Patty Puga, left, placed second in account- ing and verbal communications and Sonia De Santos placed third in job manual and fourth in accounting. This year's Creative Writers staff formed in the second quarter, with only one class of the Creative Arts Magazine. The staff and class put out one edition of the schoolis liter- ary magazine, Reflections The publication of the magazine was their main organizational goal, hop- ing to educate students in the pro- duction of a magazine and talents needed to do so, including imagina- tion, creativity, writing and art skills. The staff and course were formed and are sponsored by Mrs. Lucretia Chew. It is a way to display the tal- ents of Ieff's students by encouraging the continuation of different types of literary work. The magazine Reflec- tions consisted of the publication of poems, short stories, concrete poetry, artwork and haiku.
